Our Parent company is John Dobson & Son (Carlton) ltd. The Dobson family have farmed in the Wakefield area for nearly 200 years.

In the early days, the farm met the needs of the local community. The area farmed expanded to supply vegetables to the local markets and then the national wholesale markets. In 1990, we began trading as Green Field Produce and set up a packing and distribution business local to the main farm in Carlton. This facility allowed us to deal directly with the Supermarkets. The site was extended 1998, and again in 2004 and now covers three times it's original area.

In 2004 we opened a new factory to process vegetables.  We are now peeling, slicing and dicing Potatoes, Onions and Carrots and other produce mainly for food manufacture.  We are also wholesale vegetable suppliers to customers throughout the North of England.

The company employs 140 fulltime staff including a core of management who have worked with the Company for many years. Simon Dobson, Managing Director is involved on a daily basis with every aspect of the business. Jane Green is the General Manager and Geoff Howell is the Farm Manager.
