The Dobson family have been farming in the  Wakefield area for nearly two hundred years. The first records date back to 1815, better known as the date of the Battle of Waterloo!

The farm has been expanded over recent years and now grows vegetables to serve the needs of the Packhouse and the Processing Site.

The current product range includes Cabbage, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Sprouts, Rhubarb, Potatoes, and other Combinable crops. The area farmed now extends to nearly 3000 acres and is spread over an area between Leeds, Barnsley and Selby.

A team of 40 staff look after the farming operation, with work continuing year round. All staff are employed directly by the company, and although there are seasonal variances, we try to avoid temporary labour where ever possible.

The farm activities are very diverse with the planting of vegetable crops starting in March and continuing through to September. We harvest vegetables all year round, with the winter months being our busiest.

The majority of the produce is grown for our own use, however the bulk grain is delivered to the local feed mills and ports for export.

The newest additions to the cropping are potatoes, and these are grown for pre pack use, and further processing.
