The packhouse is the hub for all operations. It is a fully refrigerated facility with manual and automatic packing machinery. approximately forty to fifty staff work in this area, grading, trimming and packaging produce for onward transport.�
The bulk of the produce is packed for the major supermarkets, and other produce is further trimmed before being sent to the new site for further processing.
The site is fully accredited for retail supplies, and as such, all produce is fully traceable. Local produce is sourced where ever possible, with a large percentage being grown on our own farms.
The site has been expanded over the last twenty years and now includes automated wrapping machinery, and Controlled Atmosphere stores. Further refrigerated areas ensure that product is chilled as soon after harvest as possible, and then delivered by our fleet of refrigerated vehicles, to ensure the produce to be as fresh as possible on delivery to our customers.
Great care is taken to offer the full traceability and safety of the products which we supply, and this is backed by 'A' standard BRC accreditation.
